At Capture House, we specialise in delivering high-quality imagery that not only meets but exceeds our clients’ expectations. Recently, we had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with DeWalt, one of the most recognised names in the construction and power tools industry, to showcase their new line of construction wear and workwear for their US website. This four-day DeWalt photoshoot was ambitious, dynamic, and perfectly aligned with DeWalt’s rugged brand identity. Here's a closer look at how we brought it all together.
The Partnership:
For this project, DeWalt's goal was to showcase over 30 SKUs of their workwear, ranging from t-shirts, trousers, and hoodies to caps and shoes. We carefully sourced models Andre D’Cruz and Daniel Godfrey and secured the perfect location: a lumberyard in Saffron Walden. This setting was ideal for highlighting the durability and practicality of their construction wear in a real-world environment, adding authenticity to the construction wear photoshoot.
Planning and Execution:
Understanding the Vision: The project was about more than just photographing clothing—it was about capturing the essence of DeWalt’s construction workwear in action. With the rugged industrial backdrop of the lumberyard, the location perfectly reflected DeWalt’s ethos. Our discussions with DeWalt focused on making sure the workwear’s durability and practicality stood out in each shot during the DeWalt photoshoot.
Concept Development: The shoot needed to highlight how DeWalt’s workwear performs in real-world settings. We developed a concept where the models, Andre D’Cruz and Daniel Godfrey, would perform various tasks that reflected the active and practical nature of the construction wear. This approach not only showcased the products but also emphasised a clear message to consumers regarding the environment in which they are most effective.
The Shoot: During the one-day construction wear photoshoot, we worked with our Nikon D850 to capture a wide variety of shots for more than 30 different workwear products. The models wore t-shirts, trousers, caps, hoodies, and shoes, all designed to endure the demanding conditions of a worksite. With the videographer on-site, along with our logistics and maintenance staff, everything was coordinated seamlessly. Having the client present ensured that each image aligned with their vision for the construction workwear line.
We utilised a combination of natural lighting and diverse angles to create dynamic compositions that made the construction wear look both functional and visually appealing. By shooting at the lumberyard, we were able to create an authentic feel that resonated with DeWalt’s target audience, highlighting the toughness and reliability of the workwear on a practical worksite.
Another Successful Venture:
The shoot delivered a comprehensive collection of high-quality photographs that DeWalt will use to promote their construction wear and workwear line on their US website. We provided the raw images directly to the client, who handled the post-production editing themselves. At Capture House, we pride ourselves on being flexible and working around our clients' needs, whether they require raw footage or a full editing package for their construction wear photoshoot.
Conclusion:
Our collaboration with DeWalt was a powerful example of how high-quality, tailored photography can effectively communicate a brand’s identity. By capturing their construction workwear in a real-world setting over the course of this four-day DeWalt photoshoot, we helped DeWalt create a strong visual presence that will resonate with their audience. Whether you’re launching a new product or revamping your brand’s visuals, Capture House is here to help you.
