The Helena Romanes School and Sixth Form Centre is a secondary school based in Great Dunmow, Essex, UK. It is a well established secondary school first opening in 1958.
We have worked with Helena Romanes School on a number of occasions creating a variety of high-quality photography and video content. We were first contacted by the school in 2019 when they required professional images of the Sixth Form Centre to feature in their prospectus.
Our team of photographers sat with the Head of Business Development and formulated a shot list to capture. We also discussed how they wanted the school to come across and any important features to show. The shot list included headshots of the head of sixth form, and photography of each of the subjects of students enjoying the learning environment. These images went on to also be used on billboards and a marketing campaign that involved our images being put onto Essex County Council busses.
We have since been back capturing images and designing content for a number of open days to help both the secondary school and sixth form centre.
In 2020 due to Covid-19, Helena Romanes School wanted to provide a safer way to host an open-day without inviting hundreds of parents to the school. We worked with the secondary school to produce virtual tours and welcome videos from key members of staff to take their open-day online.
This involved us going to the school and interviewing the teachers and heads of departments as well as capturing b-roll footage inside classrooms. This proved to be a challenge as precautions had to be put in place to protect the teachers, students and our team from potentially contracting the virus.
Our team of videographers managed to successfully film the project including additional content that went onto be used for the virtual open day.
The event proved to be a great success and allowed parents and potential students to get familiar with the school from the comfort of their own homes.
