My Work Experience

July 4, 2019

I have always been interested in a career in marketing and the creative industry. Being an Art, Textile and Design student I always worry there are no careers out there which bring this element to the work place, but after working with Capture House I soon learnt there are many options- of which Capture House specialise in. I was intrigued to further my understanding of photography and how to use a camera in a professional environment which I could never have learnt in education.

For my first day at Capture House I was warmly welcomed by the team and their lively workplace. I was set my own project working to the same structure and standard as a professional one, and I was able to set my own theme. Being a textile student I am very interested in fashion so I chose urban fashion photography as my project for the week. I was taught all the camera settings and shown how to professionally use the camera and what the settings needed to be for different lightings and environments. Going out on the shoot, I was able to complete this is a practical and professional way.

Throughout the rest of my time with Capture House, I was shown the ins and outs of how to use 'Light Room'. Using this, I edited the best photos and uploaded them to my new online portfolio- Capture House also helped me with. This will enable me to have a new platform for my CV and make me more employable in the future.

I really enjoyed my time with Capture House. I found their work environment was fun, yet professional and I learnt lots which I feel gave me lots of experience and a clearer understanding for what to expect in my future career, which I am now very exited to start!
